Claiming Refugee from Inside of Canada
Processing time: Varies country by country
Officers will review the case and will decide on which case will be sent to IRB and for a final decision by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.
It will be decided who is a Convention refugee or a person in need of protection
Convention refugees are referred to people who live outside their home country due to the following well-founded fear of persecution:
• Race
• Religion
• Political Opinion
• Nationality
• Being part of a social group (for further detail please contact us)
A person in need of protection
• Fear of Persecution or possibility of danger.
• People who are more at risk of facing torture, risk to their life, risk of cruel and unusual treatment, punishment in their home country and fear to go back may be able to seek protection within Canada
Note: Not all refugee cases will be approved. If you have claimed refugee before or have tried claiming refugee in another Safe Third Country your current case will not be approved.
